Somewhere safe to live
YWHP is based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and is one of the only specialist projects in the UK who offer supported accommodation to young women survivors of sexual abuse. A safe place to live is important to us all, but particularly if you are vulnerable and trying to rebuild an already fragile life. We have tried to make our accommodation somewhere that feels warm and welcoming, with the creature comforts that make it feel like home.
We provide different types of accommodation to fit with the varying levels of need that young survivors might have.
- THE CORE HOUSE:
This can accommodate up to four young women, each has their own bedroom and use of a shared lounge, kitchen and bathrooms. There is a sleep-in worker and the YWHP office is based in the ground floor of the house.
- SEMI-INDEPENDENT CLUSTER:
These are 5 furnished flats and maisonettes all located together. Three single self contained flats and two maisonettes, which have two bedrooms (for a young woman with children).
- DISPERSED SINGLE FLATS and SMALL HOUSES:
Including two self-contained single flats and two self contained 2/3 bed-roomed terrace houses (for a young woman with children). Each house also has a small private garden.
