Its Non-binary Awareness week, and at YWHP we know

Its Non-binary Awareness week, and at YWHP we know that non-binary peoples experiences of abuse often go unrecognised or unsupported. Our name, Young Women’s Housing Project, can present a barrier to non-binary clients, and LGBTQ+ clients in general. So we want to make it clear, we are here for those people who have a non-binary gender who may be presumed to be women, or live as women. These individuals share many of the experiences that women do and face similar forms of discrimination, as well as some which are quite specific. So spread the word amongst your non-binary peers, -we accept referrals, if you feel comfortable to access our service and feel it would benefit you.

YWHP offers parenting sessions for 16 – 25-year-old women and their children. These are delivered by our practitioners trained in PAFT (Parents as First Teachers. Individual and group sessions celebrate successes and enable parents to achieve their parenting goals.

We also offer therapy - clients can chose between talking therapy and dance and movement therapy.
