YWHP is a gender specific, female only service, and therefore a female for these roles is a Genuine Occupational Requirement, in accordance with Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9.
Young Women’s Housing Project (YWHP) delivers specialist gender specific supported accommodation and therapeutic interventions for young women, girls and their children, affected by sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and domestic abuse in Sheffield. All our provision is underpinned by a psychologically informed environment (PIE); enabling trauma informed care (TIC) and a strengths-based approach to promote recovery and healing.
About the roles: We are interested in hearing from candidates with talking and/or creative arts therapy experience. These roles will involve providing counselling and/or psychotherapy and trauma-informed interventions for young women and their children who have been affected by or are vulnerable to abuse.
Working closely with the Clinical Lead and alongside the Specialist Support Team, the roles will build non-judgmental, effective, therapeutic alliances with clients reflective of YWHP’s ethos and core values. The roles will include liaising with other agencies and organisations to build and maintain positive links across the Sheffield region. We are a reflective, learning organisation and our opportunities for continuous professional development are tailored to individual as well as organisational needs.
About you: Alongside your clinical skills, you’ll be a clear communicator, have great organisational skills and be confident using ICT. You’ll care passionately about supporting women who have experienced abuse and trauma. You will have good interpersonal skills and be committed to working flexibly, coupled with a calm, methodical and organised approach, as part of the YWHP service delivery team to provide the best possible tailored support to our young women and children.
You will hold a recognised psychotherapy/ counselling qualification.
You will have a “can do” approach to all aspects of the role.
You will ideally have at least 2 years’ experience of therapeutic work.
YWHP are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and equal opportunities; as an employee you will be expected to share this commitment.
